The future diary season 2 is a highly anticipated sequel, fueled by the success and popularity of the first season in 2011. So it’s no surprise that fans are wondering if this anime will be renewed for a second season.
Here’s everything we know so far about the possibility of a new season of Mirai Nikki and when it might be released.
The anime series “Future diary‘ is based on a popular and successful psychological thriller manga of the same name, first published in 2006. The ‘Mirai NikkiThe manga series was written and illustrated by Sakae Esuno.
“Future Diary” is an exceptional suspense horror anime series loved by fans all over the world. The focus is on the survival game of 12 participants, each equipped with a diary that can predict the future. The main character is Yukiteru Amano, he has to work together with Yuno Gasai. A Yandere girl is obsessed with him.
The anime television series Future Diary has only had a season. It is directed by Naoto Hosodaand animated by studio As read.
It has not yet been announced whether the studio and director will return for a possible new season of Mirai Nikki.
Future Diary’s first 26-episode anime television series premiered in Japan in October 2011. The OVA episode, titled Redial, was released in July 2013. So can we expect episode 1 of season 2 of The Future Diary or another sequel?

Will there be a season 2 of the future diary anime?
The Future diary animation season 2 has yet to be officially announced. However, the likelihood of additional episodes seems low as there is currently no material left in the manga for adaptation. The final part, Part 12, was covered in Season 1 and the series has been completed since 2012.
Added to this is the financial performance of the anime. Season 1 suffered from low Blu-ray sales, with fewer than 2,000 copies sold per disc. Kadokawa Shoten released the last manga volume, volume 12, in 2012. The only major source of income is streaming, as there is also almost no merchandise or figmas.
Yet the biggest problem stems from the source material. The first season of The Future Diary essentially covered all the content available in the manga. The OVA served as an alternate ending to what I found, so unless the author writes a follow-up manga series, there won’t be a second season.
Where do you start reading The Future Diary after the first season? The Future Diary anime covered all 12 volumes, but with some differences and omissions.

The ending isn’t the only aspect in which the manga surpasses the anime. The manga contains scenes and details that the anime omits or changes. These include Akise’s visit to Yuno’s orphanage and the battle between the Third and the Ninth and more.
