The political arm of the influential Koch network, Americans for Prosperity, officially endorsed Nikki Haley’s presidential campaign on Tuesday.

Nikki Haley gets Koch’s support to replace Donald Trump

Nikki Haley has received financial and organizational support from the political network established by billionaire industrialist brothers Charles and David Koch, giving her an edge over Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis in the race to unseat former President Donald J. Trump.

He has pledged to devote his vast network of activists and virtually unlimited funds to helping Haley defeat former President Donald Trump in the Republican Party primary.

Billionaire Charles Koch’s network raised millions of dollars to help Republicans defeat Donald Trump.

But the ex-president leads the rest of the pack as party members prepare to select their preferred candidate in January.

This endorsement could change the outcome of the contest for Ms. Haley with Koch’s support.

Nikki Haley, who served as ambassador to the United Nations under former President Donald Trump, is still behind him with 50 points.

Those looking for an alternative to Mr. Trump are now optimistic thanks to Haley, who performed brilliantly in the televised debate and advanced early state voting.

Several major donors recently said they would support her against Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, whose campaign is losing steam although he is now second in the polls.

The memo from Emily Seidel, senior advisor to Americans for Prosperity Action, said: “Unlike recent elections that were dominated by Donald Trump’s negative baggage and in which good candidates lost races that should have been won , Nikki Haley, at the top of the list, would move candidates up and down the ballot,”

The memo said Ms. Haley would win over “core independent and moderate voters that Trump has no chance of winning.”

He goes on to state that the country “is torn apart by extremes on both sides.” He added: “The moment we face requires a proven leader with the governing judgment and political experience to lead our nation from the brink. Nikki Haley is that leader.

The political advocacy group hailed Ms. Haley as “a candidate who can turn the page on Washington’s toxic culture — and a candidate who can win.”

In a statement, Ms. Haley said, “I am honored to have Americans’ support for Prosperity Action, including its millions of grassroots members across the country. The members of AFP Action know that the stakes of this election are too important to sit idly by.”

She added: “We have a country to save and I am grateful to have AFP Action on our side. »

However, the Trump campaign brushed off that endorsement, saying Ms. Haley would not win with any amount of “shady money” from “the political arm of the China First, America Last movement.”

On Wednesday, the Republican frontrunner said online: “These losers have fought me since 2016 until today. »

In the final weeks before the vote, Ms. Haley’s momentum is further bolstered by support from the Koch network.

It is also a major disadvantage for Mr. DeSantis, who is trying to convince donors that he is the only candidate to defeat Mr. Trump if the race ultimately comes down to the former president and one other actor.

Americans for Prosperity Action has been one of the nation’s biggest spenders on anti-Trump materials this year, buying online ads and delivering mailers to voters in several states, such as Iowa, New Hampshire and Carolina from South.

The organization has incurred independent expenses against Mr. Trump, totaling more than $9 million.
