Whistleblower slams Bidens during investigation, ex-FBI agent says

In a closed hearing on July 17, the retired FBI Supervisory Special Agent, whose name has not been identified, testified before the House Oversight and Accountability Committee. The 65-page transcript of that testimony was released by the committee on Monday.

The ex-agent corroborated Shapley’s claims that President Joe Biden’s transition team was made aware of the FBI’s intention to interview Hunter.

The agent claimed that Biden’s transition team was notified the day before of the scheduled interview, which was set for December 8, 2020.

The agent told lawmakers, “I was refreshed by the testimony of Supervisor #2, and I believe he is correct. I believe I – you know, and now that I get into the mindset, I know I was upset when I heard about that,”

The Secret Service, which had a detachment guarding Hunter and the transition team at the time, was also notified. Although the former agent thought the Secret Service would be notified the morning of the interview, he still deemed it appropriate to let them know that the FBI planned to speak to Hunter.

Ziegler testified, “I have witnessed the corrosion of ethical standards and abuses of power that threaten our nation. It is in this context that I have chosen to shed light on these actions and to expose those responsible. I acknowledge that although I was present at the start of this investigation and have been closely involved in the investigation for approximately five years – that I am only part of the story, my goal is to resolve the systemic issues that allowed the misconduct to thrive. This is not a call for blame but a call for accountability and reform.
